Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about privacy, file formats, browser support, and how our free PDF tools work.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Ease PDF Converter processes files entirely inside your web browser. When you convert images to PDF or extract text from a PDF, the file stays on your device. We do not operate an upload backend for conversions.
Is Ease PDF Converter free to use?
Yes. The core tools — Images to PDF and PDF to Text — are free. You can use them as often as you like without creating an account.
Which image formats can I convert to PDF?
You can add common web image formats such as JPG/JPEG and PNG. Each image becomes one page in the output PDF (or is scaled to fit, depending on your page size setting). For best results, use clear, high-resolution images.
What page sizes are supported for Images → PDF?
You can choose A4, US Letter, or “Fit to image” so each page matches the dimensions of the source image. Margins can be set to none, small, or medium to control whitespace around each image.
Can I extract text from scanned PDFs?
PDF to Text works best on PDFs that contain selectable text (digital documents). Scanned PDFs are usually images of pages; those require OCR (optical character recognition), which this tool does not perform. If you cannot select text in your PDF viewer, extraction may return little or no content.
Why does my extracted text look messy?
PDFs store text with positioning information, not as plain paragraphs. Columns, headers, footers, and multi-column layouts can produce jumbled line order. For simple documents the output is usually readable; for complex layouts you may need to edit the .txt file afterward.
Which browsers are supported?
Modern versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari work well. You need JavaScript enabled. Very old browsers may lack features required by PDF.js and pdf-lib.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit set by our site because files are not uploaded. Practical limits depend on your device memory and browser. Very large PDFs or dozens of high-resolution images may take longer or cause the tab to use more RAM.
Do you store or log my documents?
Conversion happens locally; we do not receive your files. Standard web hosting may log anonymous page visits (see our Privacy Policy). Third-party CDNs that deliver JavaScript libraries may see your IP address when your browser loads those scripts.
Can I use this for work or school documents?
Many users combine images into PDFs for assignments and extract text for notes or quotes. Always follow your organization’s policies on document handling. Because processing is local, it is often suitable for sensitive material compared to upload-based converters.
